Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 31, 2004 -- Local Las Vegas wild card, Dennis "Pancakes" Tobler, has been banned from returning to Le Cabaret Club, following an incident Saturday night. This is the third property Tobler has been suspended from in the past 12 months, following incidents at Spin Palace earlier this year, and at Ruby Fortune at the end of 2003.
Dennis Tobler, best recognized for Dennis Tobler's Football Forecast Weekly, which use to air on Channel 17 KEEN-TV in Las Vegas, has recently resurfaced with his typical wild man about town demeanor.
Tobler last hit the public spotlight in the late 1980s, when an application to purchase and run a small Reno gaming hall brought allegations of mafia connections to the public spotlight.
Tobler seemed to disappear from the public eye after withdrawing his gaming application, until December 2003 when he was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct at Ruby Fortune Casino.
"We found him passed out in the women's restroom with his pants around his ankles.", cites Dan Cochran, a custodian who was working the night of Tobler's arrest.
Tobler's drunken adventures have continued until as recently as this Saturday night, when he was arrested at Le Cabaret Club Casino and banned from return.
Charges include Theft, Drunk and Disorderly Conduct and three counts of Assault. The charges also include one count of felony assault on a police officer that occurred when Tobler kicked a K-9 unit that was called to the scene.
The incident began at Le Cabaret's blackjack tables around 8pm. Tobler began slamming his fist on the table, claiming that he had been cheated by the dealer.
Witnesses at the scene report hearing him state, "I've forgotten more about gambling than these yahoo's know."
In his inebriated state, Tobler fell out of his chair, landing on Sarah Metcalf, who manages the company web site at LeCabaret.com. Passing through the pit on her way home from work, Tobler's fall directed her to County General Hospital instead, where she was treated with a broken leg.
"I saw him falling towards me, but I just couldn't get out of the way. He was just too huge.", Metcalf stated in an interview Sunday morning.
When he saw security approaching, Tobler grabbed a hand-full of chips from the dealer's tray and attempted to escape on foot.
"They were just $1 chips. He probably didn't even get $20, stated Stacie Jones, the dealer at Tobler's table.
Tobler dropped the chips while punching two members of casino security as he escaped into the parking lot, where an LVPD K-9 unit was approaching. The incident resulted in a brief confrontation in the casino parking lot, where Tobler kicked the K-9 just before being taken into custody.
Tobler is currently in the Las Vegas County Detention Facility awaiting a $100,000 bond.
