Woman wins $2.5 million at Horseshoe from 25 cent slot machine
Last Saturday at the Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City Holtzclaw won $2.5 million jackpot on a 25-cent slot machine, after just a few minutes play.
Along with her mother Holtzclaw had been playing a Jeopardy slot machine for only about three minutes when she realised she had won something. Initially thinking she had won $100,000 she celebrated wildly with her mother, before she realised they had made a mistake. As a crowd slowly gathered around the pair someone pointed said something to Holtzclaw;
“Ma’am, you didn’t win $100,000. You’ve won the progressive,” said the onlooker. “I almost passed out,” said Holtzclaw.
Holtzclaw said she plans to give half the money to her parents, $30,000 each to her two sons to be used to buy a car of their choice; the rest goes into investments.
“You don't ever think about anything like this happening,” Holtzclaw said. “I always said I was going to win the lottery, but I never bought the tickets.”
