Wireless gambling the next big thing

Essentially wireless gambling would involve hand-held devices rather like those used for computer games. Casino visitors would deposit money into an electronic account and then have the freedom to roam and gamble at the same time.

Although gamblers would not be allowed to play in private areas such as their own hotel rooms, they could take the devices to the casino bar, restaurant, pool areas and such.

According to Joe Asher, managing director of Cantor G&W, a firm which hopes to supply the wireless system, the target market is young people: “You have a whole new generation that grew up with video games.”
