The move is part of Richard Branson’s latest entrepreneurial venture – Virgin Galactic, which will provide commercial space travel at ‘affordable prices’. Virgin has teamed up with Scaled Composites, an aeronautical engineering company, to form The Spaceship Company and they hope to launch customer galactic flights by the end of the decade. The cost may be abound $200,000.
But Branson is also offering punters the chance to win this trip for no more than $5 by playing his forthcoming game ‘Virgin Galactic Quest’ on the Virgin Games site – a site currently offering people the chance to play games such as Solitaire for money.
Virgin Galactic Quest will apparently involve being in control of a virtual spaceship. The winner however will find themselves onboard The Spaceship Company’s SpaceShipTwo on the trip of a lifetime.
