Genting International PLC has launched its first online casino, CircusCasino.com, in the UK. Genting Stanley Alderney Ltd will be running CircusCasino and it will feature over 100 classic casino games, including table games, card games, and slots.  

“A lot of young people are more interested in utilizing online services as opposed to going to physical casinos. It will probably be good for Genting International,” said James Ratnam, TA Securities analyst. 

Other analysts are thinking positively about the launch of the online casino, however feel that the real profits wont come for a few years. “This is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Britain’s online gaming industry. However, the profits – especially within the first two years – should be minimal.” 

Genting International, a 53.4% auxiliary of Genting Bhd, operates 44 casinos across Britain so the gaming industry isn’t new to them and they are aware of the start up costs and know how to handle the day-to-day operations of running online casinos.  

Genting International expects the casino to be up and running and fully functional by mid year and they don’t anticipate any problems along the way. “We are very excited for the launch and expect the cost of setting up the online casino to be somewhere in range of a few million pounds,” said one TA securities analyst.
