Scottish village chosen as location for Las Vegas style casino
In spite of its size Bowling, located on the Firth of Clyde between Glasgow and Loch Lomond, has been earmarked by Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. to host its proposed 400 room hotel and casino.
The Las Vegas company plans to develop the former Esso oil terminal, with a dock for cruise ships, helicopter landing pads, a new railway station and even a possible hovercraft service.
Andrew Tottenham, Harrah’s European managing director described bowling as the perfect site: “The site is fantastic and one of the best in Scotland. The plan envisages around 400 four star plus hotel rooms with spas, swimming pools, restaurants, bars and entertainment areas.”
