Scanlon pleads guilty to bribery
Scanlon, 35, admitted to the charge as part of a deal with the prosecution. He is expected to give evidence that will be crucial to the Justice Departments investigation into Abramoff – his former partner.
Jack Abramoff is a former lobbyist, who has been the subject of an investigation since early last year, when it was revealed that he and Scanlon had taken millions of dollars from Indian gaming tribes.
Scanlon, who could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, has agreed to pay back over $19 million of the money he charged his Indian clients.
