Campaigners in Sheffield, one of the eight locations short listed for a possible super-casino license, have argued that there has been almost no consultation over the casino, which has raised blood temperatures on both sides of the debate.

The proposed casino has divided opinion, with those in favour citing the economic benefits it will bring to the city, and those against saying it will lead to a rise in problem gambling and homelessness.

The labour lead council has said it will discuss the project with residents, but claims it is too early to do so.
