Earlier this week, online casino software designer PlayTech reported that its revenues are up 10% since this time last year. Experts believe that this development comes as a result of poker revenues which are up by 24% and a 2% increase in casino revenues.

This year has been a difficult one, even in a seemingly recession-proof industry. PlayTech licensees were operating among very cautious clientele who, as a result of the economic downturn, were expected to spend less. However, their revenues have still seen growth, and it is a remarkable achievement in the online gaming world. Officials at PlayTech believe that they will continue to see strong results, because of their diverse licensees and strong reputation.

PlayTech has made quite a few developments this year that have also contributed to their success. Firstly, the software provider made a deal with BetFair TV, providing the company with several of its most popular online casino games and bingo software.

Another profitable deal resulted from NetPlay TV, which migrated their online gambling brands to PlayTech’s platform. In return, PlayTech provided NetPlay TV with live gaming software, as well as a £12.8 million cash bonus to support the project’s growth.

PlayTech also branched out internationally, launching an Italian poker network. This has proved to be very successful, as Italy is predicted to become a huge online gaming market in coming years. As well, PlayTech also partnered with the Serbian State Lottery, providing the state-owned organization with casino and poker software.
