The word on the street is that US Congressman Barney Frank, chairman of the Financial Services Committee in Congress, is readying an attempt to repeal the UIGEA. The rumour was even suggested to be behind a 20 percent surge in PartyGaming’s share price, though there are some alternative theories behind the upward movement.

Part of the rise may be down to speculation about a possible future takeover bid for PartyGaming, although the most some of that movement can be attributed to the hugely increasing player numbers on PartyGaming, and the manoeuvring that has led to ahead of the annual report due to be released on the 1st March..
