Online casino, sportsbook and poker room LifeOfSports.com has partnered with Curacao-licensed CakePoker.com to launch its North America Online College Poker Championship throughout the continent.

The competition is open to any registered university or college student in Canada or the United States and participants must compete online in at least one of 28 weekly Texas Hold’em freeroll tournaments with the top three finishers each week moving on to the final in May. This will see 84 finalists battle it out for $9,000 to put towards their tuition at any post-secondary institution in North America. In addition, the lucky winner will receive a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico, with the whole package worth an estimated $20,000.

"This is the only tournament of its kind in the country," said Chris Neville, Marketing Director for LifeOfSports.com.

"This is the only free play contest solely for university students and is for North American students only."

Students can also earn money by becoming a representative for the online casino Championship on campus and assisting in the marketing of the event on their campus. Those interested have been advised to get in touch LifeOfSports.com via email.

An all-inclusive holiday to Cancun over Spring Break is also on the cards from LifeOfSports.com each month for those students that refer their friends to the North America Online Poker Championship. By using a generated tracking link available on the site, students can refer their friends with the top monthly referrer winning the special vacation.
