Online Gaming Industry Gears Up for Annual Awards
The 2009 EGR Awards take place on Monday at London’s Old Billingsgate to celebrate all things online gaming.
The leading lights of the online betting business will grace the lavish ceremony which is being billed as the Oscars of the online gaming world.
The awards are being sponsored by the some of the industry’s biggest software providers including Realtime Gaming, Playtech, and Microgaming. Also sponsoring the event are payment processors Entropay and ClickandBuy.
Awards will be given in 18 categories including Operator of the Year (32Red, 888, Betsson, Ladbrokes, PartyCasino, and William Hill), best sports betting operator, best poker operator, bingo operator, mobile gaming operator, and live gaming operator.
The most coveted award is for Operator of the Year which covers excellence in all fields of online gaming. The nominations for this category are: 888, Bet365, Betclick, Betfair, BWIN, PartyGaming and William Hill Online.
There are also awards for innovation, online marketing campaigns, and rising stars. Ladbrokes has the most nominations with seven, followed closely by 888, with six, and then Betsson and BetFair with five each.
