As US citizens sit by and hope President Obama can deliver on his promises of bringing the American economy back to normal, there are those who are also eagerly awaiting Representative Barney Frank’s next move.  

As US lawmakers work hard completing the final details of the US stimulus package, there are those that have turned their attention to other interests. Those interests include online gambling and that is front and center on Frank’s agenda.  

Roughly two weeks, Frank announced that he would put forth a Bill that would completely restructure the current gambling laws in the United States. Presently, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act blocks any movement towards changing the laws in the US, but the online gambling world hopes that will all change with Frank’s Bill.  

If Frank and the online gambling world gets their way, the UIGEA will be abolished quickly and make way for the new Bill. The new Bill will come with new gambling laws and regulations which will be positively received by both the online gambling community and gambling lawmakers.  

When speaking about the Bill recently, Frank said the time frame will be “in the next month.” With February coming to a close and the Bill yet to be passed, the online community patiently sits by to find out what will happen next.
