New Software Promises to Protect Online Players
With the US government at a
stand still with protecting gamblers online, a new company has developed
software to enable safe and secure gaming online. CogniSafe, a US based
software company, promises their software will protect players from
online theft and ensure secure deposits and payouts.
Currently the US government
is spending more time and money on banning online gambling rather than
trying to protect its citizens from fraud and theft. Thus, CogniSafe’s
software comes at a time of need and importance, as more and more people
sign up for Internet gambling, the risk of fraud and theft grows, and
the need for Internet gambling security has never been greater.
“This (protection software)
is based on semantic technology that is used mainly in detection that
gives the ability to monitor. It tries to understand the event and it
can be 100% normal, but if you detect a threat it can be diagnosed.
It will look for programmers that show a threat in the system that works
in real time,” said Shmuel Konforty, Chief Technical Officer for CogniSafe.
The most common type of threat to online casinos is a program called bots. They are programs written with a specific code which is undetectable by online casinos and players. This creates an unfair advantage for the player as the bot controls the player’s moves and wages and causes for large bets not authorized by the player.
Detecting these bots could be vital in securing players money during casino play. Currently there are no security protocols in place to detect these advanced programs but CogniSafe hopes their software will eliminate some, if not all, of the threat posed to casinos and gamblers.
