Last Thursday Bell was the winner of one of the largest jackpots in Texas gambling history, after he won $6.1 million playing the slot machines in the Horseshoe Casino in Bedford.

Bell, a 54 year-old maintenance supervisor, won the prize playing on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine, his favourite game. He claims to have only wagered $61 dollars when the life-changing moment arrived.

An elated Bell said afterwards: “Just before I hit this jackpot I was thinking that it was time to win the big one. I never play anywhere else other than the Horseshoe and it paid off tonight.”

The life changing win means Bell will never have to worry about his retirement again, and also means he can take the trip he had always dreamed of – to Alaska – and he can do it in style.
