LCI hopes to open exclusive Park Lane Casino

The company has submitted proposals for a £9 million casino at the elite Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane; the group has already received the backing of the Gambling Commission and has applied to Westminster for a full gaming license for the premises.

LCI plan to convert a building adjacent to the hotel into a 19,000 sq foot casino which will be accessed via the hotel.

Barry Hardy, executive deputy chairman of LCI, said the idea was to cash in on the vast number of people who use the hotel: “We see a symbiotic relationship with the hotel, which is one of London’s biggest. Our application is based on the huge number of people who use the conference and banqueting facilities.”

LCI has already agreed the proposals with Marriott, the group which operates Grosvenor House, although rival casino operators are opposing the plans.
