Bidding for the casino license began last year when the Singapore authorites lifted a 40 year ban on casino gambling in the island state. The casino promises to be be one of the world’s most expesive developments, with costs for Las Vegas Sands set to reach $3.2 billion, but the copmpany expects to reap rich rewards from their investmenet.

The casino is expected to play a significant part in boosting tourism in the region and is projected to be so succesful it will actually boost the GDP of Singapore.
