According to Iriaka Rauhihi, of the Service and Food Services Union, the walk-out began at 8pm and included table staff, cashiers, kitchen staff, security men and restaurant workers.

In total over 110 people protested outside the casino. The workers are angry that workers in the same company’s Auckland casino get paid 25 per cent more than them – and they are demanding equal pay.
