High Court to examine UK casino rules
The hearing, scheduled to take place for three days from the 25th May, is early enough that any necessary legislative changes can be made before the 1st of September when the new legislation comes into effect.
Operators of existing casinos have complained that they will be hard hit if a wave of new, larger casinos are permitted, with highly profitable (and addictive) unlimited jackpot slot machines.
The British Casino Association has therefore asked the High Court to look again at the legislation.
