Harrah’s Enters the Online Casino World

Caesar’s Palace Casino will use 888’s Dragonfish platform for its software and will serve players from around the world – excluding Germany and the United States of America.

Harrah’s Entertainment developed its new interactive division earlier this year, in a bid to enter the online arena and expand its operations which currently generates revenues of more than $10.8 billion.

Former PartyGaming CEO Mitch Garber is running the operation and the online gaming world is watching developments with baited breath. The recent backlash against the UIGEA – which was press ganged through congress by desperate republicans– could signal a relaxation in US attitudes towards online gaming.  If Congressman Barney Frank gets his way, online gaming will be taxed and legislated in the U.S.

Harrah’s clearly wants to position itself to strike fast should there be a relaxation in gaming law. The Caesar’s Palace online casino is based on its real world counterpart and shares the same styling, typography, and ancient Roman theme.

The website is easy to navigate and there are a handful of attractive promotions for both new and current players to enjoy, including a 100% welcome bonus worth up to £500. Games on offer include all the favourites such as craps, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and three card poker.

With the backing of the betting behemoth that is Harrah’s, other online casinos are going to have to work hard to keep up.

The multi-billion dollar business is already promising a VIP program ‘like no other’ and with the opportunity to fly its most valued players to its legendary casino in Las Vegas, Harrah’s has a clear advantage.
