Gambling Laws in Colorado are murky
While the attorney general for Colorado said poker games played in the state’s bars and restaurants were illegal, John Newscombe, Colorado’s 4th Judicial District Attorney told a Colorado newspaper he does not plan to do a great deal about it.
This apparent difference of opinion simply highlights the ambiguities of the law – currently the way Colorado’s gambling laws should be enforced is open to wide interpretation.
Newscombe commented in the newspaper that he did not plan a massive crackdown on poker nights in the state. Also in the article the newspaper stated that charges against 22 poker players and 2 bar owners where an illegal game took place in April, will most likely be dismissed.
