The German Federal Court of Justice was told that the two men, who were gambling addicts, had written to the casino to request that if they ever went there they should be thrown out.

But they returned and managed to lose £6,700 between them playing on the slot machines. The WestSpiel community, where the loss happened, said they do check the identity of those playing roulette and the card tables, but not the slot machines.

The Judge ruled that the casino should have more to prevent the two men losing their money, and ordered the casino to pay damages.
