Casino Customers Demand Better Security
As more and more people sign
up to play at online casinos, one thing stays the same, the growing
concern for personal security online. Everyone has heard the horror
stories of identity theft and fraud online and no one wants to be subjected
to that, so how are online casinos dealing with the security issue?
In a recent study conducted by VeriSign, they found that eighty-five percent of players visiting casinos say that trust in the casino is their number one deciding factor in choosing a casino. The study further found that sixty-two percent of patrons looked for the locked icon on the address bar as a determining factor when choosing a casino and almost fifty-five percent said they wanted to find some sort of security warning and assurance found on the casinos website.
Security is a huge issue at
online casinos for several reasons. The biggest and most important issue
is the confidentiality of personal information; meaning players are
required to submit personal data and credit card information, when players
do so, they expect their information to stay private and confidential,
only to be used by the casino for payment and transactions purposes.
This is a difficult and key feature online casinos offer to their customers.
