As the owners of a number of online gambling company’s get together this week to discuss how best to support Frank, the Democrat confirmed that he would not be seeking a carve out for poker, implying that his stance is mainly motivated by concerns over protectionism. The recent ruling against the US by the WTO will have strengthened his resolve.

Frank plans to introduce the bill in a couple of days, but acknowledged that passing it may prove difficult. Speaking to Reuters Frank said: “I think a reconsideration among my colleagues is beginning but it’s not far enough along yet.”
