Atlantic City fears drop in casino revenue
Atlantic City is under pressure from slot machines in neighbouring states, with the ban on smoking and the closure of one casino also contributing to the current situation.
Monthly revenues for January were down this year for the first time, raising concerns that this could be an indication of things to come for the rest of the year.
Pennsylvania appears to be the biggest threat, with two new gambling halls opening in the last two months. But while the extra competition is bad news for the casinos it may be good news for their customers. In order to keep tempting people to Atlantic City the casinos are bound to start offering financial incentives.
