Online sportsbook Marathonbet has been unveiled as the new shirt sponsor of English Premier League club Fulham FC.
The Marathonbet logo will appear on first team and under-21 team shirts for the next two years, meaning the brand will potentially be beamed into more than 200 countries and 700 million households worldwide, via global TV coverage of the English Premier League.
Fulham said the deal with Marathonbet, which holds licences in Curacao and Alderney, was the largest in its history. The club, which finished 12th under manager Martin Jol last season, said the partnership would help generate “extensive global recognition” for the betting brand.
Marathonbet president and CEO Graham Luke called “the ideal partner and ideal platform” for the Marathonbet to launch itself on the world stage.
Fulham CEO Alistair Mackintosh added that he was “delighted” that “dynamic and inventive brand” Marathonbet had joined as Main Team Sponsor.
Marathonbet signing on the dotted line with Fulham means three English Premier League teams will be sponsored by online gambling brands this season, joining Bet365, which sponsors Stoke City, and Dafabet, which has replaced Genting on Aston Villa’s strip.
A host of online operators however also run less costly betting partnerships with English Premier League clubs, including Paddy Power with Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool, Betfred with Spurs, 12Bet with Liverpool, Dafabet with Everton and West Brom and Fun 888 with Spurs.
