888 has revealed the new provider for its sportsbook offering will be leading Swedish operator Unibet’s B2B division, Kambi Sports Solutions.
888sport is set to relaunch on the Kambi-powered platform by the end of May, when Rank’s interactive division will cease to provide support to the B2B white label of the now defunct Blue Square brand.
London-listed 888 was forced to find a new provider in April after Betfair paid £5m to acquire the customer database of Blue Square, with the rest of the loss-making business deemed surplus to requirements by owner Rank.
As revealed by 888 CEO Brian Mattingley last month, the move will allow the operator to offer a wider range of sports betting markets and products, as well as to expand its sportsbook brand into regulated markets which were not served by Blue Square, in particular Italy and Spain.
Kambi Sports Solutions Kristian Nylén, CEO said he was “delighted” 888 had chosen to partner with his company. “This agreement represents validation of Kambi’s strategic vision”, added Nylén.
Originally the in-house platform of award-winning Swedish sports betting operator Unibet, the business was spun out as a third-party supplier in 2010.
Kambi already provides fully managed sportsbook technology and trading to online brands such Paf, Expekt and Interwetten and Fun88.
