Betfred has added live dealer games to the Playtech-powered mobile casino platform it rolled out late last year.
The online arm of the Manchester-headquartered bookie has already launched live roulette tables on Android-based devices, with HTML5 and native iOS versions of roulette, blackjack and baccarat set to go live in the weeks ahead.
Betfred.com MD Chris Sheffield said the company’s partnership with Playtech was “crucial” in its initiative to establish itself as “industry leaders in mobile gaming.”
Shay Segev, Playtech’s COO, observed that the mobile channel had now become “utterly invaluable” to operators in the online gambling space today, and said the supplier was “proud” to be spearheading the market with strong brands such as Betfred.
Retail and online bookie Betfred walked away with the innovation award at last year’s inaugural mGaming Awards, beating off strong competition from bwin.party, William Hill and Paddy Power. The latter however topped the coveted sports betting and casino categories.
Major Playtech licensees Bet365 and William Hill have also gone live with the supplier’s live dealer roulette.
The London-listed supplier also launched its new mobile bingo app for Apple smartphones and tablets last week, with Sky Bet, reflective of its increased investment and focus on the mobile channel during the last year.
The company’s new mobile hub, developed by the Mobenga mobile subsidiary it acquired in July 2011, was rolled out to new major licensee Gala Coral in October.
