Playtech honoured for Main Market move

bet365′s main casino supplier Playtech was recognised for its successful move to London’s Main Market last night, winning the “AIM-to-MAIN” category at the Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards.

The provider fought off three other companies who made the move to a Premium Listing in London during the last year - Avocet Mining, Canaccord Financial and Petra Diamonds.

Playtech’s recently appointed new CFO Ron Hoffman, said the award “recognises not only of the dedication and Playtech’s people” but also the support of the City, shareholders and advisors.

The category was judged in terms of improvement of metrics such as sales, profits, earnings and share price.

The world’s largest online casino supplier, founded in 1999, first listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in March 2006, going on to grow revenues by 215% between 2007 and 2011, and pre-tax profits by 193%.

Its portfolio includes all the major operators in the space, is the main supplier to bet365, Paddy Power, William Hill, Gala and Titan, and runs the leading poker network iPoker and top-two bingo network, Virtue Fusion Alderney, completed its long-awaited move to the Main Market on 2 July last year.

The business pushed through three “related party transactions” with founder and majority shareholder Teddy Sagi in the weeks leading up to its move to the more stringently regulated Official List of the London Stock Exchange in early July.

Hoffman added that Playtech’s “desire to continue growing the business endures.”

The provider will publish its results for the final quarter of 2012 on Thursday 7 February.
