32Red appoints new ad agency ahead of Italy campaign

32Red has appointed a new global ad agency ahead of a full launch of its brand in the regulated Italian online gambling market.

London-based Hometown assumes the online casino specialist’s account from Cravens, with 32Red’s head of marketing Mark Quayle saying he was “delighted” to be working with the recently established creative agency at “such an important time” for both companies. “Hometown has the energy and excitement to match ours,” he added.

Hometown’s creative director, the aptly named David Gamble, said the new account represented his agency with a great chance to work with “a hugely ambitious client.”

London-listed 32Red spent £3m on advertising in the UK last year, according to data from Nielsen, with the company’s total marketing spend likely to increase substantially in 2013 with the assault on the Italian online gambling market, where 32Red launched casino table games in November and slots in December last year.

Hometown announced that the first above-the-line campaign for 32Red arising from the new partnership would appear in early February.

32Red has also been the sponsor of English Premier League football club Swansea City since 2009, soon to challenge for its first major honours in the Capitol One League Cup final.

The Gibraltar-based online casino specialist recently revealed it had posted record revenues for the third consecutive year, the £32.1m total representing a substantial 28% improvement on the 2011 number.
