The non-exclusive agreement to supply content to Lottomatica’s Italian-facing Vegas Club brand will run for an initial two years.
Probability CEO Charles Cohen said that the company was “delighted” to be working with Lottomatica as its mobile partner in Italy, observing that the leading brands in the dot.it market realised “the need to establish their brands urgently with mobile customers.”
Lottomatica boasted the largest operator share of Italy’s regulated online casino market prior to the country’s long-awaited launch of slots in early December, with more than 25% of the sector, according to figures from Italian regulator AAMS.
The regulator has yet to publish updated figures on the market since the slots launch.
Probability will initially deliver its existing portfolio of games to Lottomatica, but the contract also contains an option for the Italian gaming company to commission new and exclusive content from the London listed mobile operator and supplier.
Probability, which also supplies mobile casino content to Paddy Power and William Hill in the UK, unveiled a 38% rise in revenues to £4.53m in its half year to the end of September. The Gibraltar-based mobile gambling business however fell to a pre-tax loss in the period due to heavy spending £1.87m on a TV-led marketing campaign for its flagship LadyLuck’s consumer facing brand, and costs associated with its buy of Italian mobile provider Playyoo.
Analysts have predicted that William Hill may launch another takeover bid for Probability should the former exercise its option to buy out Playtech’s 29% stake in the William Hill Online JV next month. Playtech flexed its power of veto over acquisitions written into their JV agreement in November 2011, when Hill’s was forced to end its interest in Probability.
