Betfred has become the latest operator to roll out Playtech’s new mobile casino.
The retail and online bookie is now offering 20 table and slot games to its customers via Android and Apple iOS-powered phones and tablets, with bingo and live dealer games to be introduced at a later date.
Playtech COO Shay Segev said his company was “thrilled” to be providing its mobile casino to an operator that was putting so much investment and effort behind this increasingly important channel. “We see Betfred as a great partner in advancing our reach on mobile.”
Betfred.com MD Chris Sheffield added that with Playtech’s products and his own company’s focus on the platform, he was confident of being able to “generate significant traffic to mobile.”
Betfred follows hard on the heels of Gala Coral in going live with Playtech’s new mobile hub, developed by its Mobenga mobile subsidiary, which was purchased by Playtech back in July 2011.
Retail and online bookie Betfred walked away with the innovation award at last year’s inaugural mGaming Awards, beating off competition from bwin.party, William Hill and Paddy Power. The latter, however topped the coveted sports betting and casino categories.
