Microgaming has officially rebranded its poker network as the MPN and launched an accompanying new website, www.thempn.eu.
The Isle of Man-based provider said the rebrand from Microgaming Poker Network to MPN marked the culmination of a two-year project, which started with a re-architecture of the poker platform in January 2010 and culminated with the new poker lobby, currently being rolled out to operators.
Other key steps along the way included a new Flash client, an HTML5 client, fast-fold variant Blaze Poker, anonymous tables, and its True Value rake allocation method, which rewards operators for acquiring and reactivating casual, net depositing players while leaving rake-based promotions intact.
Microgaming’s head of network games Lydia Melton said the initiatives culminating in the rebrand had helped “build the framework for a scalable and sustainable network” which would make the MPN more able to adapt to any changes “this turbulent industry can throw our way.”
The MPN has been the main beneficiary of the closure of the IGT Poker Network, with Betsson, BetVictor, iGame, 24HPoker and Pokerihuone among the operators joining the network. Established rooms in the network include Ladbrokes and Unibet.com.
