Microgaming has released its first arcade-style slot, Max Damage and the Alien Attack.
The game pitches cosmic character Max Damage on a mission to defend the earth from alien invasion with bets placed and points awarded according to the number of aliens destroyed. While players are given six lives to work their way through the game, they can also win freebies, such as missiles, wormholes and nukes, as well as boosters to provide enhanced life, health and shield levels.
Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said the cosmic-themed offering was “a radical departure from the conventional slot format”, and added that “this move into a whole new style of game is particularly important to [Microgaming].”
The retro-styled slot also offers players the opportunity to earn a place on a leaderboard, ratcheting up the level of inter-player competition.
The nine-level offering is the first in a series of arcade-style games to be released by Microgaming, the Isle of Man-based provider confirmed.
Max Damage and the Alien Attack is available to play now at 32Red.
