Tottenham Hotspur has announced two betting partnerships, one with Betfred.com for the UK and the other with Fun88 targeted at the Asian market.
The English Premier League club’s three-year UK agreement will provide Betfred with UK branding rights across Spurs’ digital, mobile and social media platforms. The operator will also be offering Spurs fans exclusive betting offers and specials, guaranteeing to stay industry-best price on Spurs finishing in the top four in the EPL this season, which usually guarantees entry into the UEFA Champions League for the next season.
Betfred.com will also develop and launch its new Football Analyser application on the club’s offical website, which will provide fans with statistical assessment of the Club’s recent form and prospects, ahead of upcoming fixtures.
Betfred’s commercial director Rakesh Chablani said he was confident that partnering with a globally recognised brand such as Tottenham Hotspur would “reap huge rewards for our business.”
Spurs has also entered into a two-year partnership with online operator Fun88, which is the now club’s Official Asian Betting and Gaming Partner. A co-branded gaming microsite will form part of the partners’ online and offline activities aimed at the EPL team ‘s supporters in Asia, where 60% of the club’s global fan-base is now located, according to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
In combination with the club’s reach through TV coverage of the EPL, Levy said Spurs were “ideally placed to support Fun88′s continued growth in the Asian marketplace.”
Asian online brands have featured prominently on the sponsorship roster of EPL clubs for a number of years now, due mainly to TV coverage of their brands their home Asian markets helping drive higher in-play volumes, particularly when their sponsored clubs play those with the largest fan-bases in Asia, such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. SBObet is the shirt sponsor of newly promoted West Ham, while 12bet sponsors Wigan Athletic.
