Microgaming launches The Dark Knight

Microgaming has launched new video slot The Dark Knight to coincide with the release of the final film in director Christopher Nolan’s Batman triology later this summer.

The Dark Knight, produced under licence from Batman brand owner DC Entertainment, features a four-tier progressive jackpot, and is available now to players at leading Microgaming-powered casinos such as 32Red and Ladbrokes.

Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said the company was “extremely excited” about the launch of its collaboration with DC to produce this “dynamic and realistic tribute” to the blockbuster move series. “Fans of DC Comics and the film series will not be disappointed as their favourite heroes and villains are brought to life on the reels of this exciting new slot game.”

The online casino and poker software supplier, based in the Isle of Man, will also launch another The Dark Knight slot game based on the The Dark Knight Rises film hitting UK cinemas this summer.

The first film in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight triology, released in 2008, went on to become the third largest grossing film of all time in the United States, eventually taking more than US$1bn in box office receipts worldwide.

Batman made his first appearance in DC Comics back in 1939, and is now featured in 15 monthly comic books from DC that are translated in 30 different languages and distributed in over 60 countries.
