PokerStars consolidated its No1 position in regulated Italian poker during March and April, albeit against a backdrop of substantial declines in both the ring game and tournament formats.
The global poker leader accounted for 26% of the €18.1m of gross gaming revenue (GGR) from ring games generated by the dot.it segregated player pool in April 2012, broadly consistent with the 25.8% it held in February. This followed on the back of a 13% fall during February, meaning cash poker revenues have fallen by more than 26% since January. Tournament poker held up better, but also fell a further 6.2% during March and April, from €15.4m to €14.4m.
