Paddy Power launches new Racing Post app

Paddy Power has become the first UK online bookmaker to integrate Racing Post content into its own smartphone app.

Punters will soon be able to access racecards and form guides from the UK’s leading racing newspaper within Paddy Power’s upgraded app (pictured). Paddy Power said: “We love the Racing Post and it means you don’t have to just take our word on the form.”

The app for Android and iPhone handsets also features a new homepage lay-out and navigation overlay, effectively reducing the number of taps punters need to make to to place bets across Paddy Power’s broad range of betting markets, including their famous Money Back specials.

The upgraded app with new horse racing pages and navigation overlay is available for smartphones running the Android 2.3 and iOS 5.0 operating systems onwards.

Paddy Power was one of the first operators – behind only Betfair and Australian betting business Tabcorp – to launch a real-money gambling app in Apple’s download store in August 2010. The London-listed company’s last set of annual results showed that the operator continues to lead its peers in mobile betting. By February 2012, 49% of the group’s online customers were transacting via mobile with turnover from this fast-expanding channel increasing by 225% during 2011, it revealed last month.

Paddy Power’s rival William Hill is the Racing Post‘s betting partner for its own award-winning smartphone app, which features tips, results, race cards and a race predictor. It launched in December 2010.
