Microgaming upgrades bingo experience

Microgaming, which provides bingo software for Ladbrokes and 32Red, has announced the launch of several enhancements to its bingo software for players.

The first is that from May, players will be able to buy advance tickets for forthcoming bingo games from their bingo website of choice. In another forthcoming release, to follow shortly after, the Isle of Man-based provider will add avatar customisation, allowing players at bingo sites on Microgaming’s extensive newtork for sites to pick from a range of gender and object-based characters to represent both themselves and the chat host.

Microgaming’s head of network games Lydia Melton said that the blend of these upgrades with original gaming content such as the Immortal Romance slots series made the company “very excited about its development pipeline for operators and and players. “We feel confident that our new features will be well received by bingo players across the board”, added Melton.

The forthcoming innovations announced this week follow the launch in March of Microgaming’s new Quick Lobby, which now enables operators of bingo sites on its network to drive players into a language and currency agnostic bingo lobby, as well as quick-launching a customisable bingo loyalty scheme for players which also covers wagering on casino and side games.

Players on Microgaming’s Poker Network won more than €400,000 last month after the network’s Bad Beat Jackpot was hit, six players sharing €439,289.83 when a Nordic Bet player with a usually invincible hand of four-of-a-kind aces lost to a straight flush. Bad beat jackpots are paid out on the very rare occasion when a player with a very strong hand, a minimum of four eights or higher using both hole-cards, is beaten by an better hand.
