Paddy Power will be the first website to offer full in-play betting on live poker when a new tournament series kicks off in Ireland next month.
iSeriesLIVE will allow online customers to view participating players’ hole cards and place bets on markets that evolve along with the action, including on the player to win the table, winner of the next hand, next player to be eliminated, ‘last longers’, and a series of bets on the flop, such as redder/blacker flop and pair on flop.
Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth, both represented by the Poker Royalty poker player agency behind the event, are among the ten professionals signed up to take part in the first €10,000 buy-in, winner-take-all live event to be held in Dublin on 5 April.
Poker Royalty stipulated today that participating players will have no access to remote devices or outside influences while at the table. The event also introduces a unique new revenue structure for the players, who will each receive a split of all the money bet for or against them during the live events.
Former World Series of Poker Main Event winner Hellmuth said: “For poker to continue to grow, the game needs to become more immediate to our fans,” while Poker Royalty founder Brian Balsbaugh called iSeriesLIVE “an exciting step in the overall growth of the game.”
For poker fans unable to bet and follow the action on Paddy Power, such as those living in the US, the event can still be followed over at the iSeriesLIVE website.
