It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to guess that mobile gaming is on the rise. Hundreds of millions of dollars are exchanged daily through online casino sites throughout Europe, due to several factors; one of the most obvious being the convenience of logging on from home at your computer rather than dressing up for a night out at the casino.
Convenience, or rather technology, is being taken one step further in the world of online betting to include applications that can be directly downloaded onto smart phones and tablets such as the iPad. If you have yet to buy one of these devices and are an avid online bettor, you’ll probably look into it soon. Imagine being able to turn on your iPad from the comfort of your favorite living room chair or bed and play your favorite online casino game in complete comfort. Stuck waiting in a line somewhere? No problem, if you’ve got a smart phone and one of the casino mobile apps downloaded.
The well-known online casino, Betfair, has even made a bold claim to the growth of mobile betting applications. They say that they’re expecting mobile app gaming to account for over 50% of electronic betting revenue by the year 2016. Betfair’s interim profits have raised by about 50% so far this year and the Chief Financial Officer, Stephen Morana, referred to the emerging market as a “mass market,” as opposed to a niche side-product. The company also said they were positioning themselves to the market leader as mobile betting grows. Not such a difficult feat when you consider that since its 2000 launch it’s become the worlds largest betting exchange.
If you need further evidence of this upcoming new way to play casino games, Microgaming, the biggest online software provider to betting services, has just released an Adobe Air-based application this month. The platform will run with Androids, smartphones and tablets. The first 12 games available include several slots for you game-of-chance lovers, video poker games and table games. There are plans to release 20 more comes throughout this year.
So consider saving up your money in order to pick up the newest smart phone or tablet and play your favorite games to your heart’s content.
