Bet365 Goes From Strength to Strength

Bet365 is the biggest and most successful online casino and sportsbook in the UK. And they’re not stopping there. According to the CEO, Denise Coates, they’re looking into emerging markets. Places like Australia, Spain and Denmark are ripe to open up shop, and Bet365 may just be the business to make online betting and casino games available to residents in locations near and far.

The ordained honor of being number one was based on impressive numbers reported for Bet365′s 2011 fiscal year. From humble beginnings, the company has grown exponentially in the last decade. Just how much? The reported pre-tax profit of 91 million pounds is a far cry from its beginning year in 2000, running out of Stoke-On-Kent. While, overall, year-on-year revenues are 501 million pounds.

The company still does its bidding from Stoke, for now, but to the tune of a 58% increase in bets in 2011. Their new in-play betting feature is the culprit for such notable growth. It’s this success that allows Bet365 to run the UK’s best online casino offering with unbeatable bonuses and fantastic range of games.

Bet365 is so successful it can afford to make a couple of mistakes like having a majority stake in the English premiere league team Stoke City. The team struggled, but can you blame the mega-online casino for having pride in its home town? Certainly not. And 2011 revenues would have been higher if it weren’t for the costs associated with launching in-play betting. Nevertheless one shouldn’t underestimate the staying power of the business.

Two of Bet365′s leading competitors jumped ship recently, basing operations off-shore for the tax breaks it afforded their business. In spite of plans to spread its wings, the company has stayed true to its UK beginnings and shows no sign of slowing its rapid growth and massive earnings.
